How Our Higher-Selves Work

Understanding the nature of our Higher-Selves (aka Oversouls) is essential to living a whole and fulfilling Spiritual life. Each one of us have a higher-self and by being in contact with it, we reach new heights of consciousness. Here’s a detailed explanation of How Our Higher-Selves Work…

We are all branches, extensions and nodes of Oneness. We live in a holographic reality of various level of spheres vibrating, reverberating and communicating at various levels of existence.

Imagine as though God or Source is the trunk of a great tree. We are all branches or root extensions of that tree. Imagine as though we are the skinny twigs on the outer edges of the tree that connects to the leaves. In this analogy, our Oversoul or Higher-Selves are the next larger and broader branches for which we are connected to, that lead us all the way back to the trunk or “Source.” These broader branches tend to have more unadulterated consciousness, information and bandwidth available. Yet the higher-up you climb the consciousness ladder, the higher-vibration and less physical this consciousness.

Here’s an image to help visualize this framework for our Higher-Selves.

Our Higher-Selves can be connected to many embodied aspects of itself. This means we often share Higher-Selves with other people, both in this experience of time and in previous and later experiences of time. Our Higher-Selves are not bound to time like we are, and they experience all incarnations that they are existing in simultaneously. Our Higher-Self is also serving as the conscious server for other Worldly incarnations, existing as other galactic beings and forms of consciousness in our Universe.

When we incarnate on Earth a certain character/archetype/personality of our Higher-Self consciousness chooses to come into a human body, and take on an additional personality program to adapt to Earth and our collective consciousness. This what we traditionally call an ego or personality.

By the way, it’s worth noting our ego isn’t bad. It’s actually 100% essential to our existence and the goal isn’t to kill it off to return to our Higher-Self. It’s to refine it and harmonize it with our Higher-Self, and for us to deprogram and cut away what we don’t need. That’s what is often referred to as an ego-death.

Is our Higher-Selves our Collective Consciousness? Not quite. Our collective consciousness consists of our group personality consciousness on Earth, and a certain level of our Higher-Self consciousness that is rendered into this reality. The entirety of our Higher-Self consciousness is not made available into the collective consciousness, although it can be. This is part of our Spiritual mission on this planet, to bring our Higher-Selves to the forefront of our existence.

Our Higher-Selves are meant to be our best friends and the wise-one over our shoulder who we can always seek solace and an eager listening ear. It’s usually the one you are always seeking when you feel lost. It’s the sense of being watched when you are alone that feels comforting. It’s the one that coats you in tingly unconditional love when you lay down and have a moment after a long day.

9 Things You Realize After You Die

Annie Kagan – OmTimes | Three weeks after he died, my brother Billy woke me at sunrise and began describing what was happening to him in the afterlife. At first I thought that grief was causing me to imagine his voice. But as my brother began sharing cosmic secrets with me, secrets I couldn’t ignore, I became his student.

Billy taught me that when you’re born, that big pop gives you a kind of amnesia. One of the main things we’re doing on planet earth is trying to remember the things we forgot. But after you die, you realize a bunch of things you didn’t know when you were alive, like:

1. Life on earth isn’t a punishment for your past transgressions.  You aren’t acting out some type of I-did-something-wrong-to-you-in-another-life-and-I’m-paying-for-it-now kind of thing. It doesn’t really work like that. That concept of an eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth karmic equalizing of the score isn’t the real deal.

2. You chose your life circumstances before you were born for soul-type reasons that are almost impossible to understand while you’re on earth. If you understood these reasons, life would lose some of its punch, and that losing of punch is a little bit of what enlightenment is all about.

3. Everything changes. When you die, you realize how much. You also realize there are immortal things, things you take with you, and they change too. The Eastern concept of Maya, or illusion, what does that really mean? It means temporary.

4. Life is great, even the hard parts. And we all do things that we call mistakes. But so-called mistakes are ok. They’re just part of the earth deal.

10 Things You Didn’t Know About Lucid Dreaming

Here are 10 things you (probably) never knew about the wonderful phenomenon of lucid dreaming, the ability to have conscious awareness during dreams…

1. The first lucid dreams were recorded by Ancient Egyptians.

The Egyptians were an advanced civilization which coalesced around 3150 BC – more than 5,000 years ago. According to Jeremy Naydler, author of Temple of the Cosmos: The Ancient Egyptian Experience of the Sacred, they believed in three bodies: Shat (the corpse body), Ka (the living physical body) and Ba (the soul). Ba was often represented in hieroglyphics as a human-headed bird floating above the sleeping body or corpse. Naydler notes that “…the Ba is the person but in another form. The Ba could be defined as an individual in an out-of-body state.” Was the Ba actually the lucid dreaming consciousness? Robert Waggoner, editor of The Lucid Dreaming Experience, believes so: “…I was struck by the concept of the Babeing the part of one that flies during sleep, trance and after-death states… Many of us have had that experience, whether we call it an OOBE or a lucid dream, of flying around our sleeping body.

“For lucid dreamers, trance journeyers and OOBE-ers, the Ba may represent in a historic sense, the first depiction of a ‘mobile awareness’ separated from the physical host. Interestingly, this mobile awareness, this Ba, seems naturally connected to flying – a common and seemingly universal part of lucid dreaming. Though thousands of years separate us from the Ancient Egyptians, perhaps some of their ancient knowledge remains in our collective unconscious…”

2. One in five people lucid dream every month or more.

In 1988, Snyder & Gackenback conducted a scientific survey which found that 20% of people claimed to lucid dream frequently (every month) while 50% of people had done it at least once in their lives. So lucidity is not so rare, even if most people don’t know the technical name or induce such dreams deliberately. It actually seems quite normal to have spontaneous dream control – especially as children.

Many Children Have Lucid DreamsOne possible reason for this is that children are more prone to nightmares which can be highly vivid and emotionally intense. This awakens the part of the brain responsible for self-awareness, and gives the young dreamer a moment of clarity to realize “hey – I must be dreaming!” Some children use this knowledge to wake themselves up, while others transform the nightmare into a pleasant guided dream.
