What is Reality?

When you woke up this morning, you found the world largely as you left it. You were still you; the room in which you awoke was the same one you went to sleep in (hopefully). The outside world had not been rearranged. History was unchanged and the future remained unknowable. In other words, you woke up to reality.

But what is reality? The more we probe it, the harder it becomes to comprehend. In this video below you will take a tour of our fundamental understanding of the world around us. Hold on to your hats, it’s epicsauce.

Mainstream science describes reality as “the state of things as they actually exist”. One simple interpretation of this very broad definition is this: reality is everything we observe to be real. As Albert Einstein said: “Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one”.

But hang on – I consciously observe the lucid dream world, so does that make it a genuine reality? Let each and every one of us explore and observe and practice participating in this “reality” in order to fully understand it, grow from it, develop deeper understandings and share it with each other, so that one day we may come to some level of conclusions that may take us to the next level of human evolution. Is that not the goal?
